The Time Machine

Like every one else who is familiar with science fiction, I knew the basic plot of this book before ever picking it up. As always the modern popular culture through adaptations of adaptations had changed what this tale is really about.

The story is simple but interesting, a pondering on what the far future might be, not an introspective into how we are a doomed society. The future is not a bright shining light of hope but past its peak with darkness that hides on the edges of humanity. The industrial revolution lead to fear of humanity becoming obsolete, with the rise of machines taking over for human. The idea of what we would become if all our needs were met with no effort on our part and price we might have to pay.

My review is so short because the book is and if I talked about it any more I would have to recount the whole plot. Which would ruin it for you. My suggestion is to read it.

This book is very short only 115 pages.
